There's a hole-in-the-wall (really it is) restaurant on busy Stockton street in Chinatown. Restaurants in Chinatown are definitely hit-or-miss and the New Fortune was a great hit! Simply select the menu items you want, add them to your cart and checkout. New Fortune Restaurant is my secret spot for good, generous, and cheap Chinese food! Even my very picky children loved it and ate things that would have never tried elsewhere!! She is not Chinese, but has to have her Asian food. Those seem better. Literally a room 20 feet by 15 feet with folding up tables like you would store in your garage and seating for about 24 total people. Had the chicken chow mein and preserved egg with pork jook and both dishes were tasty without being overly oily or salty.Amazing prices for good food.

We were greeted with a small cup of warm team. The food was fast and the price was great. The beef chow fun literally had 3 pieces of beef it! We had the Mongolian beef and it was very flavorful and authentic. Good amount of skin and meat in every slice - just the way we like it! Portion was decent for the price and the ladies working behind the counter was friendly. It's located near Gum Hua Lee Liquors and across Hap Yuen, oh geez how about just near the Chinatown tunnel! Not a fancy place nor a big place. I was going to try different places everyday this week. Most of the others in the restaurant seemed to be local Asians which is always a good sign at a touristy location. The high rating was for the prompt and attentive service, quality ingredients, good taste (very mild, not overpowering), and very reasonable prices. But to be clear, if you like an authentic place and atmosphere, and decent food, we would recommend NF. The serving portions were generous.
